Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have an 02 996 C4S that I'm modifying slightly using Porsche or performance parts from the performance versions of the 911 - GT3's etc. I'm looking into a better flowing intake / plenum / GT3 TB combo. I understand that the GT3RS's had that as a complete package and had better or more efficient flow. I'm wondering if anyone here has done this to their 996's or knows if it will work?' - Will the 997 GT3 4.0L manifolds / 4.0L intake plenums / 4.0L TB / 82mm will fit my M96 engine as a complete package? - Assuming it does, will I need to re-map my ECU? - Has anyone done this or something similar with maybe X51 manifolds? What was the result? Part number: 997.110.116.91

Here is a comparison of the 3.6, 3.8 and 4.0 plenums

POST 3Original post

I'm sure the engine gurus will chime in eventually but from what I've read just giving the engine more air will potentially net you a loss in power rather than a gain. JR only recommends the larger TB when moving up in displacement, so my conclusion is you won't get anything much from these modifications. IMO add an IPD plenum and spend your money on a nice exhaust. Keep us posted though!
