Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello:
I've got an aesthetics question for my fellow 996ers. Here's what my car looks like (got this image off the internet, but everything's the same except for the wheels):
As many of you know, Fuchs is making some modern versions of their famous windmill wheels. This is what the standard wheel color options look like:
Of those options, I think the the ones with the silver petals are the coolest, BUT, here's the one I want your opinions on. They are totally unpainted:
So, my friends, what do you think of running the Fuchs au naturel? If you hadn't guessed, I'm not super tied to what went on widebody v narrowbody back in the old days. Just want to get some outside opinions on my idea before I drop the $$$!
Thanks,
Steerpike
The 996 looks so much more evolved than the earlier cars that came with Fuchs...it just seems weird to strap Fuchs onto a modern vehicle. At the end of the day, the only person you have to impress is yourself, but that's not where I'd put the $...
Seems like strapping a hoop skirt onto a supermodel...
I'm seeing a bunch of 996es with black Fuchs-style wheels, they look pretty cool I think:

Do what makes you smile. I dislike silver turbo twists but once I powder coated mine black they became my favorites. It's all just personal preference. I also think the Carrera wheels and CCW C10s look pretty sharp. Fuchs just aren't my favorite. But I'm aesthetically challenged so take it with a grain of salt.
Now THAT'S what I'm talking about. I do think that the larger Fuchs have a pleasantly contemporary look. Are those 18" or 19"? I just wish I could get a photo of some "silver petal" ones on a silver car.
They gotta be Fuchin' crazy to peddle those wheels for $4000/set... who do they think we are?!! We're not Ferrari owners, we're Porsche owners! Right men!???
Can I get a witness!???
Atrox: thank you, that's exactly what I was hoping to see!!! Now time to continue pondering... Folks, take a gander at the turbo with all silver wheels, that's basically what I'm thinking. Also, what brand are your repros Atrox?
I has a hare-brained idear to install some of these on my 03 C2...
only, this vendor allows for custom colors, I'd like a silver rim + anthracite or grey spokes.
@Atrox - Are yours OS design? Either way they look great
The silver fuchs on the silver 996's make me want to gouge my eyes out. The silver on green makes me want to slam my ******* in a drawer repeatedly.
But I don't really feel strongly one way or the other...
How about these, only I would order some type of grey spokes. I used to really like BBS CH-Rs but don't think they go very well on the 996.

+ 1 .... Too Funny.
(Post #19 pictured ) .. The silver/silver Fuchs fitted to the 996tt in arctic silver has a just OK aesthetic for my money. The silver/black Fuchs on the maroon exterior 996tt grows on ya; In the background of the 996tt, take notice the '70s era blue 911 coupe wearing 15" tall Fuchs. Classic....
IIRC,,, an eighties decade Carrera fitted with Fuchs were mostly black with a silver perimeter - no?
Man, that's strong money Fuchs is asking. Best of luck..
Signed, Cup II sucker
