Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello all, This is my first post in Rennlist although I've followed along to plenty of threads in the past that have greatly helped me. We had a beat up 944 that we fixed up to driving condition about a decade ago when I was in college. My dad always wanted a 911 and finally bought a 04 C4S vert late last year with ~50k miles shortly after his retirement. The car seems like it sat for some time so we're working on getting her back to her full glory. We've knocked a few things of our list rather quickly, such as ac blender doors, stuck soft top, vacuum hose leaks, and infotainment, but this last issue has driven us crazy for about two months now. We noticed a small oil leak coming from the front driver side of the car. It was a slow leak that would appear immediately after parking it. The car could sit for a month and no additional fluid would leak after the first few hours of sitting. We never managed to replicate the leak with the car sitting in the garage. The wheel well would be wet as well as some of the underbody panels. I removed the underbody panels and cleaned the car as much as I could and took the car for a "spirited" drive. When I returned it seemed to be coming from the wheel well again. I feared brake lines but they looked good. Then noticed the oil was coming from higher up as seen in the first picture. This led me to the frunk in the area between the DOT tank and the windshield (picture 2). Initially thought it came from the connection circled in green in the third picture since everything below it was wet, but the clip was broken and I didn't want to mess with it until I could recreate the leak. After wiping everything down and finally getting a second body to help, I discovered that the leak actually came from the connection circled in red in the fourth picture. Every time the clutch is pressed a few drops leak out and down. I found that the part number for that line is 996 423 107 11 but then discovered there's a possibility that it's actually the small o-ring at the end of this connection. I ordered 999 707 333 40 but have no idea how I'm supposed to change it. Also, any help identifying the clip or how to fix the connection circled in green in the third and fourth picture. Any and all help is appreciated. TLDR: Clutch fluid leak, need to replace o-ring 999 707 333 40. 1 - "Source" of leak that indicated it came from above. 2 - Leak source in frunk. 3 - Clip broken and potential kink in line? 4 - The green circle is the broken clip. Red circle was confirmed to be the source of the leak.

Im pretty sure u will have to remove the clutch master cyl to get the connection apart. Pull the drivers seat and lay on your back to get under the dash.
