Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

23 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Good morning and hello all! Just wanted to say a quick hi, as I have been a long term lurker here. This forum is a wealth of good info .. and can provide some good nightmares if you focus on the worst of what can happen. Last month I purchased a 996 after a lengthly (for me) search. Having previously owned a few 912's, an '85 911, and a 2005 997 (RIP), I'm glad to be back into 911 ownership. Nothing can scratch the driving itch as a 911 can. My 996 is .. er was .. a one owner car, nicely optioned, painted in very subtle red. Not unexpected, in my short ownership, my 996 has already needed a water pump, along with .. refinished headlights, climate control LCD replacement, new center caps and air box muffler delete. Here are the particulars along with pics. Glad to be part of the 996 owners "club"! 2003 996 C2. 67k miles and climbing. Hello and welcome. Enjoy your 996 in good health.

POST 7Original post

Guards Red, the greatest color in the Porsche palette. Enjoy it in the best of health...T

POST 10Original post

Congratulations and Welcome. Nice looking car.

POST 11Original post

Nice chariot! Absolutely love those seats. Would kill to have them in my c4s. When you say reconditioned headlights, we're the covers getting scratched up or something?

POST 12Original post

ABSOLUTELY FREAKING GORGEOUS CAR!!! Nicely optioned - I have those exact same seats and love them. And, the extra 25 hp factory guards red hp bump is a sweet bonus.

POST 13Original post

Looks great! Love the seats. What do you mean by this:

POST 14Original post

Gorgeous seats, looks like a really well-ordered car from the factory. Congrats!

Thanks all for the kind words on the seats. The seats and painted console were big pluses in the purchase decision. Btbolin, the headlight lenses were quiet yellow, and just a tad bit hazy. If you looked closely you could see small surface cracks. I suspect normal UV damage from the Texas sun. $139 to get the headlights back to new looking. Worth every penny. VitaminC, I removed the intake muffler that is bolted to the underside of air box top cover. I capped the hole with the "cap" that comes with the Fabspeed cold air intake kit. Awesome mod to get the engine to howl as it should.

05 was rear ended by a red light runner / hit and run. The other car was a pick up with a full brush gaurd driving at highway speed. My wife and walked away without so much as a scratch. These are well build "little" cars.

Wow. That really sucks but glad you guys were OK.

POST 21Original post

Welcome to the community and excited to hear you are enjoying the Fabspeed mufflers! If you are ever looking to take it up another notch give me a shout. The factory cats on that car are quite restrictive and failure prone, so our Sport Cat X-Pipe would compliment the mufflers nicely when the time comes

POST 22Original post

Nice looking 911 with a great option list. Rare to find a 1 owner Porsche, congrats on your purchase. When I bought my '99, I wasn't sure at first about the sport seats. After 10 years of ownership this coming Sept. I'm glad I have them.

POST 23Original post

Just so you know, RED slows the car down. If you don't believe me, ask the average cop. ha!
