Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

And don't feel bad, this is on our new Carrera T courtesy of a very badly repaired utility cut in the road near our house and yes the electric company paid....

I used 3M body tape to fasten it under the car so it is barely visible.

Have them take it off and while it is off, get in there and clean the radiators.

Given the nature of the damage it doesn't look like it could be repaired so my current plan is to buy a used one and get it resprayed.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Yesterday I cracked my front bumper cover on my steep garage ramp
. I had put a half inch rubber stall mat down to reduce the grade and it
was
"working", preventing me from bottoming out, but I guess over time it moved and I should have done a better job of staying on top of that. The 2nd picture is what it looks like with the mat in the "correct" position.
It looks to be just cosmetic damage but Im beating myself up over it. Given the nature of the damage it doesn't look like it could be repaired so my current plan is to buy a used one and get it resprayed. I will probably cut off the bit that is dangling to avoid it breaking off while Im driving.
Has anyone damaged their bumper in this way before?
Repairable with less work than souring a replacement, respray, dealing with the match, etc. I would try a combination of a
quality
plastic heat stapler and adhesives such as 3M or Devcon plastic adhesives.
I would just tape everything in place until I removed the bumper. The spots where the plastic folded and creased will be weak, but I would put doublers there or otherwise reinforce the area. No need to do more damage by removing.

Before you go to the trouble, take it to a body shop for a quote. I had holes in mine from a bad license plate installation and it looked like new when I got it back. Have them take it off and while it is off, get in there and clean the radiators.
Spoke to a couple local body shops and they say due to the nature of the damage its hard to repair. Hard to get the plastic to reattached nicely given where it broke. They recommend to trim the dangling part and live with it or replace the whole bumper cover
Me, I would just cut it off and keep drivein and never let it bother my little heart again.. or you could spend a bunch of money to fix and nhave it ripped off again somewhere again
I damaged mine years ago in a similar way. Although after scraping the ground I tried reversing, got the bumper caught on the pavement, and pulled the bumper completely off. Ouch. At the time I bought some sheets of stainless steel and then cut to size and riveted them to the bumper. That worked quite well. You might be able to do the same.
I eventually replace the entire bumper with one that was the same colour. In theory. But I had to spray that to really match. But I learned from my mistake. I bought another roll of stainless steel and cut it to cover the entire bottom of the bumper. I used 3M body tape to fasten it under the car so it is barely visible. It has survived for at least 5 years now and has protected the bumper from numerous encounters with steep driveways!
