Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
"The car is worth what the buyer will pay for it." "It might take time to get the price you set." Two very important concepts in pricing.
Leading evidence: 'Set ." two very important concepts in pricing' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Set ." two very important concepts in pricing' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have a 1999 5/98 build I’m going to sell in the near future, I want to price it for a fair price. I have service records back to 2010. Artic silver/metropol blue IMS,RM,Clutch,Brakes,Tires,Bilstein have been done with in the last 4k miles.
Let me know what I should price it for.
How many miles on it? You do post a few pictures, but what would you consider the shape? What options does it have? I see the comfort leather seats, does it have full leather? The GPS unit? Aluminum look gauge cluster? etc.
71k Miles
The car is in very good shape.
The hood and passenger front fender paint meters a little higher than the rest of the car.
Im in the San Antonio Tx area.
Post a picture of the option sticker in the frunk. The sticker that you posted says it's a tiptronic and it's not. The sticker will show the real options.
I would say $25-$27K. Not to pick unreasonably, but faded headlights, wheel and seats appear to be older than ~70K miles and the low-rent hot air intake is questionable. A good spiffing should bring it up a few K.
When was the IMS upgrade done?
Decent bones as they say.
IMS was done in 2022.
Headlights will be detailed.
My IPhone 8 takes crappy pictures.
The steering wheel needs to be dyed.
I have receipt to back up 71k miles.
I sold the car to a friend in 2022 bought it back and dont need it. I dont think it was $10k but I will add up the receipts.
The cold air intake works great but no telling what brand, the bottom air box is there. It will only need the top air box to put back to stock
FYI - paid $29,900 for a black completely stock 1999 with a 3/98 build date in May of 2025. It had more miles, 95k and a long list of dealership service records
GLWYS
PS: Personally would never purchase a 1999 with a replacement IMSB, complete deal breaker for me 🤷♂️
Keep in mind that on BaT you've got 5% buyers premium (1,300 in this case) and transportation fees to factor in there.
Also, the arctic silver over boxster red example on BaT was a cabriolet.
Fix the steering wheel, do a good job detailing and the comp is closer to this one (which was well sold for $33,330 with the buyers premium):

i simply disagree. The interior is not in good shape and the car has zero desirable options. Then again, some people take up the standard for optionless cars? Something Ill never get. I could be wrong but more than $25k is kinda laughable to me.
Thanks for all the replies. My plan is to do a full detail, possibly re-dye the steering wheel have my mechanic do a thorough PPI and then hope that I can get low 30s
Full disclosure I paid $26k for it.
I'd strongly recommend getting a factory airbox. To many Porsche buyers, that rather ridiculous filter setup will be a red flag and would get me looking for other questionable "improvements". Sets a not-so-great tone for the car.

You might be right, I'm just not seeing these cars transact in the <$25K range
unless
they have more than 100K miles or show signs of neglect. Properly presented, I think this car should get over $30K.
"The car is worth what the buyer will pay for it." "It might take time to get the price you set." Two very important concepts in pricing. If you need to sell quickly the price should be lower.
I had $30k in mind (even with the AutoZone air intake)
IMO the only options that add value to a 996 are the X51 package, Aerokit and rare colors.
Heated seats and full leather dont add anything.
At least thats what Ive seen over the last five years of 996 ownership.
I think my early build 996.1 specd with 014 Sports Package ( M030 Suspension, LSD, Sports Seats) and 408 Hollow Spokes should be worth more than one with fluffy seats, deviated seatbelts and a cd player.
But everything else being equal, its not.
The newest n/a 996 is 22 years old now. Its all about mileage and condition.
Oh, and the 3 options listed above.
Full leather is much nicer but IDK that it moves the needle on value at this point.
To me the big value points (non turbo, obv) are:
(1) 40 Jahre
(2) Coupe / Cabriolet
(3) Manual / Tip
(4) Miles: under 50K, under 100K
(5) Indication that the car has been consistently maintained, including IMS history
(6) X51
(7) Aerokit
Everything beyond this IMO is just noise that is factored together with the presentability/condition of the car.
I wouldnt buy a car that didnt have full leather at a minimum and would strongly prefer natural leather or extra leather covered surface options. Those are desirable features, as are well preserved wood or carbon trim imo. The latter two are almost nonexistent of course.
