Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So, I have searched high and low and still no answers. 03 cab, purchased 6 mos ago. Rebuild top cylinders and that part is working fine. The issue is that the latch at the windshield tries to latch before the top is in position to do so. I have to pull it down by hand to get it to latch. Fluid is topped up and bled. The sensor that attaches to the cylinder on drivers side is in place and working properly. Is this a durametric/dealer situation or?? From my understanding, the top should not require any assistance to latch. Would rather do this on my own than have to go to stealer. Any suggestions?

POST 2Original post

I don't believe the front latch mechanism is controlled by the hydraulics. Convertible top operation , at Pelican Parts seems to confirm this. Here is another link RennTech.org , there is a good description of the convertible top operation from the service manual at this link.

Get a PIWIS and do a Top Calibration on it.... If that doesn't fix it the Fabric on the Top may need to be adjusted/loosened....
