Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Both rear wing gears have stripped teeth. Has anyone tried to 3D print replacement parts?

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Another thought. Do the 986 Boxster sliding gears fit the 996?

POST 4Original post

My gears were all stripped tooI ended up with a good used unit. Id be real interested if someone had a file for these though. my issue seems to be the wing being sensed in the wrong position so the motor is trying to close an already closed wing and thus stripping the threads

POST 5Original post

Even if you do manage to print it, I don't think it would have the same service life as the original part. I've got a spare decklid here at home that I removed the motors/cables from. More than happy to give you the assembly for just shipping cost, it'll contain the rack if I understand correctly.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the offer. I might take you up on it if the rack I bought on Ebay does not have the required parts to fix my car.
