Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey everyone, Ive been having an intermittent issue with the frunk on my 2002 996 Turbo. Hoping someone here has seen this before. Issue: When I try to open the frunk using the interior switch or key fob, I can hear the actuator making a noise like its engaging, but the latch doesnt release. This happens occasionally sometimes it works just fine, other times it wont open at all. What Ive done so far: Replaced the frunk actuator with a new unit. Tested the actuator using a Power Probe, and it pulls with noticeably more force than when its activated through the cars system. Given this, it seems like the actuator isnt getting full power when triggered by the car. Could it be a weak ground, wiring issue, or something in the control module? If so, anyone has the wire diagram? Has anyone dealt with low voltage going to the actuator or had similar symptoms? Appreciate any insight!
