While trying to replace the flapper door the spindle popped off at the top. It disappeared but not inside of the airflow area. I can’t see nor feel it from inside. Question, if I remove the AC control panel should I be able to reach under the heater box console area and find it? next could someone make the spindle with a 3 D printer?

I ordered a new spindle from china (it looks the same, made for a VW Jeta) that should be here in a couple of weeks. In the interim I decided to use the bottom spindle on the top. It does not fit so I am using a hand file to make it smaller. This is crazy, should have been maybe a 3 hour job running into a 2nd week now.
