I'm running Fisters with Magnaflow cats, I love the sound, and the neighbors have not complained, (yet)

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

I'm running headers stock cats and Fabspeed mufflers and although it sounds better (deeper tone) then stock still not that loud.
I am thinking of installing the Soul sport mufflers or the Fabspeed maxflo sport mufflers on my 996.1. I am not going to do the sport cats due to expense. Anyone just do the sport mufflers and how do they like them? Any check engine lights just with the mufflers? Opinions from people who have either appreciated.
Maybe think about design tek. I bought sport muffs and 200 cell cats with all install/replacement hardware for around $1500 shipped from uk. Save some $$ for maintenance items, fluid changes and such. Your $$your choice
Riz sound is very subjective I recommend you visit. a Porsche meet and take your time
the best sound I got from my 99 was 200 cell cats no mufflers and fabspeed xpipe the sound was glorious!!!
BUT NYC sound cameras carry a hefty fine so I added fabspeed maxflo it’s good but lacks the Lamborghini sound I was getting
I'm running headers stock cats and Fabspeed mufflers and although it sounds better (deeper tone) then stock still not that loud. I'm looking for something louder.....I think the OEM cats are the reason so I'll be looking for a catless X pipe or even 200 cell cats if I can find them. Mine is a 01 C4
I've got the full Fabspeed system, with cats, headers, mufflers. At idle and low load/low throttle its not to loud, but louder than oem by a big amount. At full throttle/load its very very loud, to much for me. But the sound is good, a boxster engine at full tilt with little muffling does sound amazing,,, once in a while,, not for a constant diet for me. Its place is on the track.

No issue at all. I changed the pre cat o2 sensors and followed tech advice on this forum. The sound is totally different. I had a .2 with factory pse, its louder than that at high rpm. Like other folks mentioned, no complaints from my neighbors
I am running FSI headers and 200 cell X-pipe with 996.2 Fister modded mufflers. It sounds very good, louder than stock but not enough to get complaints and sounds really good to me at higher rpm.
I re-post the below link in exhaust question threads, gives a decent idea of various manufacturers and compositions. Won't lie, I've fallen through on saying I'd post a video/sound clip of the Billy Boat mufflers I went with. Really like the sound (not egregious or raspy, throaty and low) and feel like their overall construction is very nice, install was easy on the garage floor. Price seemed reasonable too given the expected nature of "Porsche Tax" anyways.

This video is fairly comprehensive. May not be exactly what your looking for, but it will give you a good idea of sound from each manufacturer.
