Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The wring harness is plug-n-play into the cars wiring and activates the existing orange warning light above the coolant temp gauge ( low coolant warning light) in the "slow flash mode"....So with UAOS System installed the "Slow flash" has dual meanings, it can mean the coolant is low OR the oil accumulation is high ...and remedial action is required ...

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So as I posted yesterday I'm tracking down an oil leak -- probably from the oil cooler O-rings. I decided to start working my way back toward it and removed the airbox and throttle body. When I got to the plenum I could see the inside was kinda shiny with oily residue. Wiped it out with a paper towel and it's pretty oily. Pics attached -- is this a clear sign of a bad AOS? Thanks.

POST 2Original post

Yes. This what makes the 996 so compelling. You have a number of well documented problems to solve sooner or later but they are all known. There are no unknowns. Sometimes you get to fix them all at once. For others, it may take three or more years to catch them as they break. Your 996 will shortly be bulletproof. Bank account may be empty, but you are doing a great job of tackling the issues. Please please consider replacing the AOS with the UAOS. Here: Ultimate AOS

POST 3Original post

IF your AOS hasn't been replace then it's not IF but WHEN it will fail....May be a good idea to bite IT before it bites YOU.. There will always be a slight film due to " oIL vapors" , but should never be enough to form a Drop, or Pool...you can also test with a manometer ( search AOS manometers in the archive for the equipment and procedure) and yes the UAOS is an upgrade that helps in so many ways...( read the FAQ in the link above)

POST 4Original post

@Porschetech3 you say on the faq: In addition, the UAOS also has a microprocessor controlled infra-red warning sensor in the Accumulator which is set to activate an in-dash warning if oil accumulation reaches a dangerous level. Is it a new dash light, or you connect it to the red oil warning light?

POST 5Original post

Quotes source post: 19855740

The Sensor is made specifically for me by SST Sensing in the UK....It is an Optical Infra-red Microprocessor Controlled Sensor that screws into the CNC'd Black Anodized Aluminum Accumulator and it senses for an abnormal amount of oil accumulation .
