What I did to fix was to cut two pieces of hard plastic and glued them to both sides of the broken one, then used my grinder to form them to size and just drilled the middle out to same size of the original piece.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm sure its on here somewhere. But, I don't even know what to call it??? My manual is on a dead hard drive. It keep the top latch from poking holes in the top when closing. I have a new top, but I can't install till I have this simple plastic part. Anyone have the Part number? POST 2Original post

I just fixed mine because my dealer couldn’t help me out. What I did to fix was to cut two pieces of hard plastic and glued them to both sides of the broken one, then used my grinder to form them to size and just drilled the middle out to same size of the original piece. I did not notch them out, I just slid it into place.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I guess that's the route i will be going, unless someone finds a supplier or number. I have been thru the parts book and have not seen. Maybe I missed it?

POST 4Original post

I also repaired my convertible top flap (a.k.a. trim cover). I drilled a small hole in the end of the "arm" where the broken part is. Then, I inserted a zip-tie through the hole, around the shaft that it clips to, and back into the zip tie. Fixed. I wish I had a picture, but it was pretty simple. If you want a new one, it looks like the part is 9 99656126501 Trim Cover (UP TO YEAR 01) $27.07 9 99656126503 Trim Cover (FROM YEAR 02 UP) $25.89 It's part # 9 here: http://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-p...-05/811-12.php Here's another thread about this part. Edit: I found the DIY for the simple fix: Check post #8 here: https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...w-closing.html
