Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Jake, sorry to see it didn't work out but I can imagine.

and some relevance to m96/97 engines too. https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...1-engines.html

POST 3Original post

Link for the lazy....don't know why it doesn't show up in some posts, I always put a hard return after them before posting and they show up as a link: https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...1-engines.html

POST 5Original post

Wow....epic thread, that guy sure seems to know what he is talking about, and he is a fantastic technical writer!

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yeah, Baz is like the counterpart of Jake in UK. He's also the same expert Jake mentioned he wanted to join force with a while back.

POST 7Original post

In another odd similarity with Jake, Baz encounters irrational hostility on technical issues as Jake. There are some epic Threads with paranoid 'flat earthers' Anything Baz writes for Hartech ,even if it is on Piston Heads, I find very interesting and often gives a unique perspective. They have a great Buyers Guide and other gems on their website: http://www.hartech.org/

It was very informative although I only care about the M96 information. but it is good information none the least. These are very valuable information. Same as what Jake would share. I understand when people ask for more details or question things they don't agree with or don't understand. However I really don't understand the negative tone and the attack people would do over people who shares these information. It is not like they are telling people to go blow their motor up so they can do the rebuilt. Most of time these are information to help you not blowing your motor up which is contrary to fear mongering... Why can't there be a good honest technical discussion without the trolls?! I can only guess the ones that bought the car hoping for a huge value increase as investment don't like these kind of information that scared off potential buyers... I don't understand people

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Human nature...who likes to hear anything bad about ones own car...real reduction of resale value especially if opinion is given by experts. Personally I love knowledge and I would care less about resale value.

He's a great guy.. We tried to team up, but we were too much alike, and our personalities clashed. We tried it.

POST 11Original post

Ahsai, totally agree with you. I always believe that knowledge is power, the more we know the better for our cars. The unknown and fear is what leads to the real reason why people steer away from these wonderful cars. Jake, unfortunately I see this in research or academia a lot where personalities clashes and make it not possible to work together. The fortunate part is that these people usually can innovate on their own and provide great information or validation for each other's finding. Alternative ways to solve the same problem.

Jake, sorry to see it didn't work out but I can imagine. Regardless, the Porsche community is lucky to have you two sharing hard-earned info and your insight on these engines.
