I get the benefit of replacing both, but does the whiter beam from the old indicate it is rated higher?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Yesterday I replaced the passenger side headlight bulb on my 2002 C2. I ordered a Phillips D2S C1 bulb from Amazon.
Works fine, but I immediately realized it has a slight yellowish tint, while the driver's side is a nice bright white. (I showed it to my wife, and while she acknowledged the difference, immediately started laughing because she knows my OCD will never allow me to let this slide, even though I'll probably never see them again myself!)
I suppose I could buy the same bulb and install it in the drivers side, but I actually prefer the whiter shade.
So, what bulb should I be looking for? I tried a search, but the Phillips D2S was one of the recommendations.
4300 seems to be the rating for my new bulb. I get the benefit of replacing both, but does the whiter beam from the old indicate it is rated higher? I prefer the "whiter" output.
I've had the car for 6 years and 70,000 miles, and this is the first time I've blown a bulb.
Yjere are many choices for 5000k D2S but if you want to stay with Philips try these (if you can find them) - they are usually available from vendors in Europe - I bought mine from Russia (yikes) but they arrived as promised and have been installed for a year now with no issues. The Philips D2S Color Match (CM) is rated as 5000K and is a nice bright white - anything higher than 5000 will start to have a blue/violet tint. As others have mentioned, buy in pairs.

I have the Phillips Xtreme Vision Gen 2 bulbs. They are the newest most high performance bulbs Phillips makes. They definetly look much whiter. Also the intensity of the light is stronger. All around great bulbs. Just make sure you buy from a reputable source. I used to have the Osram Xenarc unlimited bulbs. Also a great option.

I've had nothing but good luck with the low price variant (4 cars w/HID bulbs). Get something like these & put the extra $100 in your kid's college fund.

every brand of bulb may have different colors. I would buy a pair to match them. I would stay with a cheaper bulb, like ebay , they last as well as any others. I would buy 5000-6000 to get brighter colors
Yes, I bought them on ebay from a reputable seller. They arrived about a week later.
These bulbs are more expensive than standard bulbs but they really do provide more light and look very nice. I think the extra price is worth the night time visibility. If you can see further down the road you can react to obstacles faster.
