Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

A huge number of students with extremely clean bright red drivers suits with Ferrari logos and patches all over them, 90% of the drivers with alligator arms unable to give clear point bye's, if they give them at all, cars that only get driven from one end of the paddock to the other (I just don't get why you bring a car to the track and never take it out to the track).
Leading evidence: 'Replace bearing' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean bright red drivers suits' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I just finished up two days at Mid Ohio instructing for the Ferrari Club of America. Interesting two days. It's my understanding FCA had no one in the area to organize the event, so they reached out to the local PCA track organizers. They gave them a requirement of only Ferrari's on track. After the laughter died down, the organizers pointed out there aren't too many Ferrari owners in Ohio that are instructors. So they reached out to the PCA instructors.
This is an interesting group. I know Porsche owners can be accused of being arrogant at times, but these guys take the cake. Their requirements prohibited anything but Ferrari's on track in the student groups. So if we wanted to take a student out it had to be in the instructor session.
I also noticed many of the Ferrari owner stereotypes are actually true.
The driving was interesting also, these guys are not what you would call good, and listening is not a common trait.
The PCA guys theta put this together did a great job and made this a fun event. We even had a chance to watch a 1987 F1 car do a few laps.
996 content:
I was parked with friends having a 997s and a GT3. I was amazed that 5-6 people came over and asked about my 996. Not the GT3, but the 996. I don't get it, I love my car but I would be way more interested in the GT3. Instead these people came over and commented on the 996 with the Aero kit.
Last time I had this on track thing were less than fun, since I had Akebono street pads on. These are great for low dust but have absolutely NO brake bite. I replaced them with Cool Carbon street performance pads. These have excellent bite and feel for a street pad. Surprisingly they also don't put off much dust. My wheels stayed rather clean through both days. My previous car was a very track oriented 944s2 with a rather stiff suspension and R compound tires. After a few laps with the completely stock, on street tires, 996 I was lapping 5 seconds faster.
I spent most of today cleaning and waxing the car. I love this thing, run it around the track for two days, clean it up and it looks great. I guess it looked great on the track also.
I drove into London the other day and it was noticeable the 996 attracted looks from passers by as we sat in traffic. My wife and I both noticed it - Its a stock C2 996 Cab in silver and the roof was up. There appeared to be more interesting cars about but we love the 996 it appears others do to
Funny - I've only experienced one Ferrari owner on the track and he was too afraid to use the pedals. Nice guy though.
I enjoy having a variety of cars on the track. Not sure I get the "only Ferrari" for students mentality. It's a DE right? Last week I did a SCCA Track Night event and was the only 911 in my run group. You can learn a lot by seeing how other cars and drivers do, what their lines are - front engine vs. rear engine, FWD vs. RWD, etc... I had a blast leading then following a Focus ST (and seeing it lift a wheel in corners).
Here's a video from that event - in the 2nd or 3rd lap you'll see me pass a Mazda 6
The guy was pushing it for sure. I was taking it easy at this point - tires, brakes and the driver was worn out from triple digit track temps.
That's Harry's Lap Timer and an external GoPro hero 4. Harry's is running on my iPhone that you can see in the video. GoPro is mounted high on the windshield near the rear view mirror.
spruden, I also think having different makes on track at the same time is a good thing, At this event it was made very clear that Ferrari's and their owners are above everyone else. You are also correct on the drivers pushing their cars. Most of them were coasting with 2/3rds of the straight away to go.
Moe, I have a sony handycam that I use to video and Trackmaster on my Android phone for logging data. It can also video, but I have not used it yet.
My favorite event is West Coast Racing at Willow Springs, twice a year, Spring and Fall. ALL KINDS of cars - lots of Ferraris, Porsche of all manner, Aston Martin, Lambos, McLaren, Corvettes.... even old race cars! It's GREAT fun, the people are great and they even have free all-you-can-eat barbecue and open bar when the track goes cold. I love multi-car events!! (With a little friendly inter-species rivalries...for spice
We have a guy that actually tracks his Ferrari and runs with the POC guys
He is a nice guy and it's really great to see someone actually drive their Ferrari
Awesome story.
I remember there was some club that had a marque restriction listed on their registration page with no details about what the restriction was. I emailed the registrar to confirm I was OK with a Miata and their response was that the restriction was no Ferraris were permitted.
The slowest track day I have ever been to was a Ferrari Club one. None of them want to put their cars in a wall or break anything. The fastest guy on the track was with a track prepped 996 c2.
I told them all to get Miata's. They looked at me like I was carazy.
