Should fit. I upgraded my 996 shifter to a 997 stock shifter which is shorter and I really like it. I had a 997 GT3 shifter I never tried so I sold it because the 996 to 997 upgrade felt just right to me.

Yes it will fit, it's exactly the same as a standard 997 shifter but it has metal bushings instead of plastic

Why improve on something that's already thoroughly enjoyable? I did the same thing and feel no need to go further with metal bushings, etc. Maybe after I tackle more important updates to suspension, resprayed bumpers, and the like. @OP - If you can get that for $275 it could be a nice deal for a high quality unit. Just upgraded my 996 stock shifter to a stock 997 shifter last night. The old one was "creaking" when changing gear and was really sloppy. New one is a joy to use I can recommend the money is well spent. Purchased this one from SunCoast https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/997SCU.html
