Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

( the factory probably does want it be replaced once removed, but not nessesary in 99% of the time)There is an expanded metal circlip that is easy to damage that would have to be removed and unless you have a new connector ( that comes with o-ring and circlip) I would not risk it.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Prepping to put the engine back in my track car and the service manual shows disassembling the power steering connectors before screwing them back on. Is this necessary or am I misreading it all together?

POST 2Original post

I not sure what the manual says, I would have to read it myself, I know for a fact I WOULD NOT disassemble the connector without a new one to replace it with. ( the factory probably does want it be replaced once removed, but not nessesary in 99% of the time)There is an expanded metal circlip that is easy to damage that would have to be removed and unless you have a new connector ( that comes with o-ring and circlip) I would not risk it.

POST 3Original post

Second what Porschetech said. I just reconnect them with no issuea.
