Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I went to the shop yesterday morning, and they changed the quote on me.

I did the Gundo cross pipe between intake and exhaust using 1.5".
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Greetings.
I am looking for confirmation of the right size of pipe for the intake to outlet Fister D mod, as I am going to my local muffler shop for the work this Saturday.
Car is 1999 C4/MK I.
After numerous searches, I've read anywhere from 1.5" to 2.0", I also understand there was a stage 1 and stage 2 variant for the Fister D at one point, but that they only do one now. Need confirmation on the size for the mod they do today.
Thanks in advance.

Nice weld job! That's the "gundo hack" though not Fister. Fister connects inlet to outlet, Gundo connect through the muffler. From what I've read Gundo may be a little quieter than Fister. Either way they are goo, inexpensive mods.
So here's an update. A muffler shop that has been around for years in Seattle quoted me $250 for the Fister mod. I went to the shop yesterday morning, and they changed the quote on me. $450!!! "3 hours labor at $114 per hour, plus parts man."
uhh... no thanks.
Anyone know a shop in the Seattle area that will do this thing for reasonable price? If not, I'll just go with Darin's which I probably should have done in the first place..

I researched this a lot. You will proabably be good anywhere between 1.5" and 2.0". I did the Gundo cross pipe between intake and exhaust using 1.5". Love it
I have a 2" set that I have considered selling to make room in my garage and I live a few miles from Seattle. I will likely sell them for $250 so you can get them and keep your original mufflers. The welds are ugly because they were done by a Porsche Tech who is not a welder but it should work. I would let you buy them and if you don't like them with 15 days you can return them for full refund (I don't think you would do this which is why I will take that risk).
The only problem is I have two out of state guys are ahead of you that get first dibbs...I am taking pictures for them later this week when I return from Asia. I will send to you as well. If they decide against it due to shipping costs, you can buy them if you are interested.
