no problem at all - its changed day to day but I think all roads lead to The Fister D and possibly pair it with a set of sport cats.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

34 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

As I was researching different exhausts systems and setups online, I started to keep track of them. I didnt see a consolidation of these clips on the forum. Nice thread! While the recordings are sort of all over the place as far as levels and types of sounds (some just sitting and some actually driving) it's definitely helpful to have all of them in one place! Thanks ** This should be a "sticky"

POST 3Original post

Wow....well done....thanks for doing this....at some point I need to post me Dundon exhaust.

POST 7Original post

Thanks for putting this together - so what set up did you decide to go with?

Thanks for putting these all together! I went with Billy Boat, I didnt see it above, would you like a clip of the sound?

POST 10Original post

Quick clip of muffler deletes with stock cats kicking up dust from my driveway and rattling the phone, it's loud. I love it. You Tube You Tube You Tube

POST 11Original post

Well done. There are so many to choose from. When I was trying to decide, I keep a file with all the YouTube videos, then narrowed it down. I did go a different route, Kline long tube headers, Tubi Style with a X-Pipe. A little bit higher, F1 type wale at high rpm. Cargraphic was a close second.

POST 12Original post

Fister, stock cats. In-car audio with windows down. You Tube

POST 13Original post

I like my muffler delete as well. The only issue I had was the drone so I added Car Chemistry baffles and it kept most of the sound while reducing the drone.

Fister D sounds great and I think you will be happy with the sport cats. My OEM mufflers were rusted along the seams and being in Canada the Fister D option was a bit expensive. I went with a complete Top Gear set up on my 2001 C2 Cab - long tube headers, 200 cell x-pipe sport cats (stock tube size) with the so-called mild mufflers. Very happy with the sound and overall noise level considering it is a Cab. I did have second thoughts about the louder Sport mufflers but one year in I am happy with my choice. One thing I will say is the stainless steel finish didn't last long - it looks pretty rough considering I only drove a handful of times in the winter and never when the roads were wet.

POST 16Original post

Umm.. hello how could mine not be part of this... best sounding 3.4 on the planet I might be a little biased since I made it thought lol Few more vids on my youtube(DD Builds) channel of the exhaust tearing it up. You Tube You Tube

POST 17Original post

ttt123: So what did you rig up? Looks like a muffler delete, but I could not see much farther.

POST 18Original post

Great thread, ended up with the top gear myself. Might add high flow cats at a later date

POST 19Original post

Quotes source post: 16543922

For that exhaust I had cut the headers and redirected them a little bit to go into 4-shorty bullet mufflers with an X-pipe. It was sold to a fellow member here on the forum but I don't think he's shown a video of it yet. The new one I'm making for the engine swap is similar but headers are equal length this time.

POST 20Original post

Here is mine with the Fister exhaust. A short little drive by vid. You Tube

POST 21Original post

Anyone have the loud TopGear silencers with their 200 cel cats? Im really considering the loud ones. I currently have stock with the 200 cel cats and its nice but still mild to me. Would like something loud but not feel like I do when I get off my Harley after sb hour on the highway. Most of my driving is with the top down and crank the radio to drown out the wind.

That's me! After 100 miles on my break-in 3.4 to 3.8 rebuild, I've decided it's too loud. Have Soul Performance headers and catless crossover pipes on the way. Not sure about mufflers yet. Fabspeed mufflers are shot. Selling ttt123 custom exhaust. Send me a PM if interested.

Thanks! I definitely see why everyone likes this exhaust now. There is no drone and it simply sounds great. For the money, really hard to beat.

POST 28Original post

2 more, and I think the Ultima version might be the winner for me in the end. You Tube You Tube They do cost way more than the FVD, Quicksilver, and Cargraphics I'm deciding between though.

POST 29Original post

Bumping this since there's been a couple new threads asking about different exhaust brand sounds.

POST 34Original post

Just my five cents I recently mounted on my car (02 C4S) the FVD Brombacher Sport Sound Version https://www.fvd.net/de-en/BES9960500...ort-sound.html I didn't find any video in internet that would show the sound of only the mufflers. I can say that Im really happy with the upgrade. Subtle at iddle and lower rpm, but with a nice tone and a bit more of volume when you are on throttle over 3K rpm I would totally recommend it (no affiliation) if you are looking for a setup that gives an "oem" sport sound but without being too loud.
