Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I changed the carpets and center console to black by swapping in used pieces and really liked the look.

Suggestion
I really like having black carpets from a cleanliness standpoint (at least it looks clean) and I think the contrast works well.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Anyone ever seen anything like this done on a 996?
I don't super-love my Savannah Beige interior's dash reflectiveness and was curious what it might look two-toned with black. But I couldn't find anything when I googled it.
On the door panels, mine has medium blue carpet with the top half Savannah Beige. The option name from the COA is "Deviating Carpet Color".
Terrible picture, but this is what it looks like. I love it. My prior 996 was Savannah Beige also with nothing contrasting, and I didn't like the "sea of beige" look.
Since mine is a '99 Carrera, I actually have a lot of contrasting hard black plastic. Plus, it's not listed in the frunk option code list, but somebody added wood trim to the doors, too:
It's a bit of a mess. (

This fella added some very inexpensive seats to his 987 but he got a great price on them. Problem was they were black.
He didn't like the look so he went about fetching additional Porsche black interior pieces until he ended up with this (below). It looks fantastic to me
I have deviated (black) carpets in my car, but its cinnamon leather. I really like having black carpets from a cleanliness standpoint (at least it looks clean) and I think the contrast works well.
The last car I had with a tan interior (not a 996) had a black dash from the factory. I changed the carpets and center console to black by swapping in used pieces and really liked the look.
This is my April '98 build C2 in Forest Green Metallic L2B4. It was supplied with Z codes to have a black instrument cover, dashboard, airbag and steering wheel. I wasn't a lover of Savannah but this addition has made it far acceptable to live with and I'm of the view green and savannah do work as a colour combination....she's 65,000 miles and treasured.
That's pretty nice,
@gIzzE
. I especially appreciate that deviated stitching on the airbag.
I would imagine this interior started its life as black and then had the beige added afterward.
Speaking of which, that looks lighter than Savannah Beige. What color is that?
No, that is actually from the factory like that.
Magnolia and black is the option.
One for sale at the moment here in the UK with that interior, with PTS Atlantis exterior.

My 2000 986 base with beige interior has the same blue (ish) carpet. Could be metropol blue. I don't have the COA option. Anyhow, it looks great with my ocean blue metallic paint and provides great contrast as you mentioned.
