Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I can cut up my damaged bumper for u but used ones r not that much and by the time u bond and repaint it hardly seams worth it.

I don't think the effort to repair these would be easier than just replacing the damaged ones.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I will have the improper fister muffler hack that was done a previous owner removed from my 2001 996 but need to repair the heat damage done to the bumper as shown in the attached pic. Since it is a large area and this is an attachment point would like to patch in a piece from another bumper - what would the best way to buy just a damaged rear bumper cover that otherwise would not be repairable - only need the left and right side to cut out these areas and attach and finish onto my car. Any suggestions or leads would be appreciated. It does not matter what the original color was - repair will be hidden behind the rear aero spats my car has.
I can cut up my damaged bumper for u but used ones r not that much and by the time u bond and repaint it hardly seams worth it. The issue is those bolt areas r the first place the bumper fails when they get tapped. Ill take a pic in a little bit to show u what condition mine is in.
No, N0, just weld it. I big 4x4 backed his trailer hitch into the front of my car. I thought about buying new but the new do not fit as good. Then I was thinking of buying one off a used car maybe even catch one with same color. Buy the time a found a couple they were all a little cracked here broken tab there. So a friend said weld it- it was the easiest thing to do in the world. Essentially you use a soldering iron and feed in some plastic. For good measure I melted in a piece of

SS screen I had. Repainted and two years later and about 10K miles no crack no shrinkage- noting.
A larger area is heat damaged so best to replace a larger area - if it was just an attachment tab or mounting tab I could do a spot repair, this is a larger area to repair.
Went to have the fister hack removed and noticed a new problem - a hole in the crossover pipe had started to damage/melt even further. Seems strange as one of the holes looks like it was drilled vs a rust through or scraped damage
drivers side damage

removed and plugged fister hack
passenger side much better shape
Does anyone know of a source for a set of new rear aero spats for a 996.1? I don't think the effort to repair these would be easier than just replacing the damaged ones.
I have found the problem with used ones is that they are usually damaged when taking them off - many were glued on and they are 'fragile' and damage easily. Could possibly ignore the whole issue but.....
