When I first got a silver badge, it was a post face lift one, so when I put it where the original badge was, the top of the "C" on the Carrera badge stuck out, so I had to replace the first one I got.

I deleted the AWD system from my 2003 C4s a few months back and wanted to replace the rear deck emblem with a "CARRERA S" only badge.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I deleted the AWD system from my 2003 C4s a few months back and wanted to replace the rear deck emblem with a "CARRERA S" only badge. I know they didn't make a Carrera S in the 996 generation but I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get the correct badge for the generation? There are so many different sizes I am having an issue finding what would fit properly.

POST 2Original post

You could get an "S" badge from the Boxster S or the Turbo S badge if you wanted to stay in the 986/996 generation. I think if you want the most "true" answer, it would be this 993 S badge. It looks like it has the same texture of the S from the 996 C4S badge. https://www.suncoastparts.com/produc...92430161W.html

POST 3Original post

The 996 C4S badge has a cutout where it sits on and around the 4, wouldnt look good by itself.

This is the answer. I plan on doing this when I eventually tackle the exterior aesthetics and do either a respray or a wrap. For now I'm not touching the badge.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was hoping they carried the S in Red or black, looks to be only silver for the 993 generation. Also, do you guys recommend the carrera emblem from the 996 carrera 4? I can get that in black like I was looking for.

I have a correct size Black Carrera stick-on emblem, OEM Porsche, new, never used. It matches the Carrera emblem on my C4S, except it is black. Sell it for less than Suncoast. PM/DM me if interested. Mail from Idaho. Don't know where you are... FWIW- I also have "script" early silver 912 emblems, and a black & gold (2 emblems) 7" Carrera aluminum pin emblems. OEM. YMMV

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I wish you sent this a few days ago, already placed the order with Suncoast. Thanks though!

No Prob. Just doing other stuff around here, no time for laptop adventures. I have lotsa OEM air-cooled stuff/parts, calendar coins, OEM P-calendars, P-Workshop manuals, etc... Gettin' into the ol'-geezer stage, with a (wink wink) C4S. YMMV

POST 11Original post

Quotes source post: 20363472

The original Carrera badge (at least for pre-face lift 996s) was black. I changed mine to a silver one because the black one was nearly invisible on a Lapis Blue car. I think the the Carrera 4 badge was silver, which is how I got a silver one. The Carrera 4S was post face lift. but I don't recall what color the badge was. Also, you should note that the placement of the rear badges changed from lower to upper on the engine lid. As a result, the top of the "C" on the Carrera badge curves outward on the post face lift cars, vs. curving inward on the pre face lift cars. When I first got a silver badge, it was a post face lift one, so when I put it where the original badge was, the top of the "C" on the Carrera badge stuck out, so I had to replace the first one I got.
