The job is not complete unless the pilot bearing is also changed (speaking from lots of bad experience)

Suggestion
I would highly recommend replacing the AOS with the UAOS w/track drain even if you don't ever plan on tracking your car.

Suggestion
Since I am in there and the car is 22 years old, I am changing the flywheel to a single mass, the clutch to a Spec with spring plate, AOS replacement while I am in there, water pump and belts also while I am in there.

For sure, test your oil, drop your sump and cut open your oil filter to see what you have in them, scope your bores to see their condition, run the best high viscosity oil with high moly that you can afford, change it 2x a year, and then drive the hell out if it.

Suggestion
You will elimate any smoking issues with parking on hills, canyon carving and you will be able to run the oil at full or even higher levels up to 2 qts over full, which helps with oil pressure stability and oil starvation risk.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

planning do the preventive measures of IMS (LN IMS solution) & RMS, should I go ahead and replace the clutch & flywheel - shifting feels good still.
only considering, as it is right there when they do the IMS/RMS replacement.
thanks for your input.
Always good to at least take a look at the clutch and flywheel and judge their condition. If you want one less thing to worry about replacing over the next decade or two, might as well consider doing the FW and clutch.
I would highly recommend replacing the AOS with the UAOS w/track drain even if you don't ever plan on tracking your car. You will elimate any smoking issues with parking on hills, canyon carving and you will be able to run the oil at full or even higher levels up to 2 qts over full, which helps with oil pressure stability and oil starvation risk. For sure, it also mitigates the risk of AOS intermix and hydrolock.
Lastly, make sure you have a fresh OE or OEM water pump. It should be refreshed every 5 years or so. Last thing you want is a broken blade to get caught in the heads and a crack developing which causes intermix and the need for a head repair.
For sure, test your oil, drop your sump and cut open your oil filter to see what you have in them, scope your bores to see their condition, run the best high viscosity oil with high moly that you can afford, change it 2x a year, and then drive the hell out if it.
The 3.6 is an excellent engine and its durable as hell with all of the above mentioned items.
Enjoy!
@GC996. - thank you so much for your recommendation -
I also have a new water pump on hand to replace but did not add the AOS & UAOS - will get those as well.
Best
I am planning similar this winter although I am going with the TuneRS DOF solution and replacement bearing. Since I am in there and the car is 22 years old, I am changing the flywheel to a single mass, the clutch to a Spec with spring plate, AOS replacement while I am in there, water pump and belts also while I am in there. Gearbox will get an oil change and I already installed a short shifter. I will also be checking over the Y-cable, engine mounts and gearbox mounts. Coil packs and plugs were done along with suspension shortly before.i got the car but i will be doing a brake job and replacing the flexible hoses plus fluid. Oil and filter changes obviously. Looking forward to having fun in my shop over the next couple of months!!
I would stay away from the LWFW for many reasons. All you need is software and you can get it too rev pretty damn fast. I have run a Spec clutch for years. Its been a good upgrade. If you really want to improve your handling and be able to carry more speed, get a Guard LSD.
You forget ...
Coolant reservoir while the engine is out.
and Pilot bearing with a clutch job. The job is not complete unless the pilot bearing is also changed (speaking from lots of bad experience)
