Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I decided to start a new thread since I am now going to attempt to replace the 12 volt actuator in the passenger foot well.
Leading evidence: 'Replace 12 volt actuator in the passenger foot well' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). I have a PDF of the service manual (all 8,100 pages) but it doesn't look particularly useful for this project ("replace central flap motor").

Anyone that followed my previous thread and pictures regarding replacing the heat control blender plate knows that I had problems getting the plate back in where it belonged.

After replacing the plate I think i managed to push the spendal at the bottom through somehow.

Questions to follow, I could use some good advice!

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I decided to start a new thread since I am now going to attempt to replace the 12 volt actuator in the passenger foot well. Anyone that followed my previous thread and pictures regarding replacing the heat control blender plate knows that I had problems getting the plate back in where it belonged. I don't know if the motor worked before or if the plate opened or not. I did not see it moving while I was accessing it through the dashboard vent.
After replacing the plate I think i managed to push the spendal at the bottom through somehow. I found the spendal pushed out and the actuator was not connected to it. I have a new (ebay) actuator ordered.
Questions to follow, I could use some good advice! I would like to repair it without going back in through the front since I have it all closed up now.
1, I can reach up beneath and manage to turn the bottom of the blender plate. If it turns I wonder how much it will turn? I could turn on the engine, get some heat and see if I can get heat to the vents as it should? If it does allow heat to come through then it must be working correctly. Then I will just have to get the blender plate snapped into the bottom of the spendal.
2. If this does not work I will need to go back into the front compartment, remove the blender and start over?!!
Thank you for helping me!
I don't think you should have to go back in through the top, assuming whatever you used to cap the top pivot point will hold up when you push the bottom pivot back into place.
I would have to look, but IIRC the pivot doesn't turn all that much - less than 90 degrees overall.
I would like to get myself shop manual but the ones Ive seen are pretty expensive, any recommendations?
I did lose the cap on top that I cut off. I did not cover it with anything....
I just removed the access through the radio/vent to visualize the blender door. I turned the door from the bottom spindle after manipulating the door to position it then snapped the spindle on it. It only turns back and forth a small amount and the door as seen only opens maybe a half inch. No way the door could have been put in backwards or something? I wont know if that is how much is needed until I get the new motor and see how much it moves. I feel that something is wrong. Guess I will have to wait and see? Thanks again for help advice!
