Leading evidence: 'coolant' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'coolant' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It might also be the ac condenser leaking....I made a video of it here: any thoughts You Tube

POST 2Original post

It's likely the coolant. Either a bad hose or a leak on the radiator itself. If your a/c condenser is leaking like that (a/c oil), your a/c would have bled out and not working now.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thank you for the reply. I am getting it looked at friday. It looks like its coming from the hose not being attached properly.

POST 4Original post

You can also possibly tell what the fluid is by smell and "feel" (taste too, but don't do that!). I would expect it to be either coolant or condensation from the A/C condenser. The former will smell "sweet" and feel a bit slimy; the latter won't smell much like anything and will feel like water because that's what condensation is. I would not expect any A/C "oil" in the condenser (you would find that only at the back of the car, by the A/C compressor), and the refrigerant itself is a gas at atmospheric pressure. Assuming it's coolant, it's either a bad hose or a leaking radiator. Either are "easy" fixes, just one costs a bit more than the other. Good luck!

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thank you. I was able to see it with more light, and the fluid definitely had a green tinge, and it was pretty oily. it seems to be coming from that hose that I tried to get a shot of. it seems to be a common issue, something about the plastic wearing out? thanks again. I will be having it looked at friday

Actually no, the a/c oil is mixed with the refrigerant and is circulating throughout the whole a/c system. Where there's a leak, there's oil stain. You may be confused by the power steering fluid by the a/c compressor.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

^^ so in the video, does it look like ac or coolant hose?

POST 8Original post

It's a coolant hose because you can see the spring style hose clamp. a/c hoses/pipes don't use clamps.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

so, if I may ask, if it is the hose, what would be the repair? a hole new hose or possible just the clamp?

POST 10Original post

Quotes source post: 13872918

Someone will have to physically inspect it and see what's going on there. Could be a clamp that has lost its tension or the hose is ripped. If it's the hose, you need a new hose. If it's the clamp, a new clamp.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

does anybody know the part number of that hose? is it a water hose? thanks!

POST 13Original post

Old hoses from an 03C4S with new versions waiting for install.

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thank you for the hose pics. this is very helpful.

POST 16Original post

What year and exact model is your car? Not clear if your leak is from the upper radiator hose or the lower one but they are #8 and #9 here if they are directly attached to the radiators. As you can see, the hoses are model specific. http://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-p...section=105-15

POST 18Original post

You can just use the link above to look up the correct part.

POST 19 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

yes, thank you for that link. it gives a map of the parts located on the engine and so forth it is very helpful. thanks again
