Probably not the optimal setup, but didn't have the patience to shop around before driving my new baby...I'll be keeping an eye out for some used turbo twists.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi everyone from a new 996 owner, and thanks for all the knowledge available on this forum! While a lot of the threads sound scary at first, the fact that so many people have worked on solutions and are still happy with their 996s gave me the confidence to buy my first Porsche.
For those of you who follow Bring A Trailer, I'm the winner of the 996 that sold in December. Lucky for me, the car has an LN IMS bearing, RMS was replaced at the same time, and water pump and coolant overflow have also been replaced.
Last night I completed my first DIY, removing the clutch assist spring. It didn't get rid of the squeak I was hoping to eliminate, but the improved feel is great. Any advice on what to try next for the squeak? It's definitely the pedal, and mostly when it's almost completely depressed.
The only 996 problems I'm aware of that haven't been addressed are AOS and engine mounts. Any input on whether it's worth it to replace both soon, or simply enjoy the car for now?
Congrats and welcome. Sounds like a good deal if car reportedly

Curious if supporting documents to verify above were available with the car?
Yep, I received maintenance records, except for the recent water pump - seller is still looking for that.
Should have also mentioned my first "mod" was snow tires, since the car now lives in Chicago. I went with Tire Rack Sport Edition Cup 4's with Yokohama Iceguards. Probably not the optimal setup, but didn't have the patience to shop around before driving my new baby...I'll be keeping an eye out for some used turbo twists.
Here are a couple pictures from the listing. Far better backdrops than you can find during January in Chicago! Color is Meridian Metallic, with metropol blue leather.
Congrats on the car. Chicago is a good place to have a Porsche, other than salted roads in the winter, because prices are low and mechanics are aplenty (I'm in River Forest, IL)
The clutch and brake pedals pivot on a bar. Try shooting some dry type lubricant into the pivot point, or just some silicone spray. Worked for me. See diagram here:
