It's a lot easier to adjust the coilovers with the wheels off and the suspension unloaded, and then do final dialing-in with the wheels on & weight loaded.

Suggestion

I'm not sure my "after" numbers will be of much use because I have a targa, and there is no RoW M030 targa-specific setup, so Gert recommended using the cabrio setup and I agreed.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

For a 2003 Carrera 4S (now RWD only): I'm roughing in the ride height for Feal 441 coilovers and I want to set the ride height at roughly that of the 996 GT3. I found specs showing the ground clearance specs at https://www.renntech.org/topic/3066-...e-height-spec/ but I'm looking to start with adjustments while the car is unsprung and the wheels are off. (This will make it much easier to adjust and to set droop as well.) Can anyone share the measurements from the top of the wheel arch to the center of the wheel hub? If you don't have it for the GT3, I could take it from a stock C4S or Turbo and approximate from there, factoring about 80 lbs weight reduction for removal of transfer case, front driveshaft, and front axle shafts. Thanks

POST 2Original post

I am plainly not in the majority but I don't understand why folks are so het up about measuring changes in suspension height from the ground up. TIRES, people. They're in your equation, and they're not all the same. Okay rant over. Suffice it to say I have some numbers that I hope may help you. If you want pics I can send them, let me know. These are measurments from the wheel center to the edge of the fender. I'm not sure my "after" numbers will be of much use because I have a targa, and there is no RoW M030 targa-specific setup, so Gert recommended using the cabrio setup and I agreed. Here are the numbers I have for my car before/after RoW M030 installation. before = factory stock US targa with 100K miles F: 14-1/8” R: 13-7/8” after = RoW M030 cab springs F: 13-5/8” R: 14”

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for those numbers. That's pretty close to what I had estimated. Of course, droop will be very different based on setups as well. I certainly know that tires matter, and that the values will differ based on a lot of factors. But when adjusted, the differences will likely be a matter of millimeters, not centimeters. I just wanted ballpark numbers before I put the tires on and lower the vehicle. It's a lot easier to adjust the coilovers with the wheels off and the suspension unloaded, and then do final dialing-in with the wheels on & weight loaded. Cheers
