Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Im not sure if my engine M64/05 ist able to adjust advance in more angles.
Leading evidence: 'Adjust advance in more angles' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Adjust advance in more angles' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

For the ECU: to be free, it is more easy (for me) to use a free programmable, like ecumaster or others.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello from Gemany!
Iam working on a VW-Beetle with 3,6ltr 996 mid-Engine and free programmable ECU (Ecumaster black).
Like to have the first engine run in a week.
I have questions left, would be really nice if you like to help me, please.
- would be wonderful to get a quite conservative, ignition table, what is useful to start with.
- The variocam plus has the inlet cam advance from 1500-5500rpm, no more variables. Is that right?
- for the adjustable valves (only on(11mm)/off(3mm)) i have no information about the circumstances to switch.
And i can imagine there is a rpm limit to switch, not to brake something.
What are the variables to switch from 3 to 11mm and back?
Thank you for your help,
Olli
@ DBJoe996
that is a very good exlanation.
But seems to bring one thing more to work on it.
The cam advane is not just on/off like the M64/01 before, but different angles!
There is only 1 solenoid each side with just on/off and cam hall reader on both sides, what may read 4 positions per turn of cam. How is that working electrically for the different angles?
Im not sure if my engine M64/05 ist able to adjust advance in more angles.
But with all information and program work to the ECU, the ecumaster will handle that.

it is not a race car! Just a car for old people with power steering, aircondition and so.
For the performance, i spent him a Quaife differential, just for fun on wet street ;-)
One radiator is in the front together with the a/c condensator, 2 radiators left and right next to the engine.
For the ECU: to be free, it is more easy (for me) to use a free programmable, like ecumaster or others.
For example: i modified a 993 (it is in 914 with Boxster S Gearbox) with single coils, no distributor.
(There was one distributor connected with another, i hope not by chain ;-)
Is goes easy over 300HP with stock cams and i love the character.
There is space in the beetle right/left next to the gearbox and that is perfect for 2 ball bearing Precisions
Iam not used to do program work on the Bosch DME. I dont know, if it is possible to let it work really(!) stand alone, without any alarm, Wegfahrsperre, without catalytic converter and upgrate to turbos.
May be, but...
With the Ecumaster, you get the App to look and read and monitor by smartphone, by bluetooth.
Was easy to configure e-gas, i think you call it "drive by wire", with a mercedes sender, it just fits perfect to the beetle and is cheap.
Best regards,
Olli
