Wondering if anyone has replaced the brackets and what was used to tighten or loosen the bracket bolt.

The bracket slides in easily, but I have not figured out how to tighten the bolts.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello Everyone. I am trying to replace the passenger side headlight support bracket. I muscled off the old three bolts but don't want to do the same when installing the new one. There's not enough space to remove or install the 3 bracket bolts. Wondering if anyone has replaced the brackets and what was used to tighten or loosen the bracket bolt. The wrench does not fit in the space. Any ideas?
Thanks for your time
Cheers

I've never been able to find any sort of explanation or DIY on how to properly adjust the light mount/bracket. They are a MAJOR pita...Even worse is figuring out if the light is properly aimed once you actually get the bracket tight and the light unit properly aligned with the fender that surrounds the upper part. I noticed that mine passenger side light was improperly adjusted after getting the right "wing"/fender replaced. Unfortunately, I recognized it well after I had picked the car up from the shop (I was so focused on the paint quality that I missed the fact that the light was about 1/8" lower than the surrounding fender - the other side wasn't like that). I decided I would adjust it myself as I didn't feel like bringing it back to the body shop - who should have done it right in the first place (so I didn't have much confidence in them). Bottom line is that it's quite a bit of trial and error (with an emphasis on the error part). My take is that you get the overall height and tilt with the "knurled thumb screw" and sort of capture the plastic tray of the bracket. You then tighten down the skinny center bolt (I don't remember if it's a Torx or a Hex - but whatever). I had to do this 4 or 5 times before I got it right (actually it was 2 or 3 times the first time I tried, and then another time or two a few days later because it was still bugging me...). Anyway, hang in there and you'll get it eventually... Good luck
