Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I Sharpie lug torques, tire PSI, caliper bolt torque, drain plug torque, and other stuff I use semi-regularly onto a cabinet door in the garage.
Leading evidence: 'Use semi-regularly onto a cabinet door in the garage' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Recommend diy'ers' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Great book and highly recommended for the DIY'ers.

I can find a torque spec in less than 30 seconds using my book.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I held off on getting this book because of the price and that I could usually find the info somewhere if I searched long enough. But now that I have it, I use it almost every time I touch my car. Great book and highly recommended for the DIY'ers.

I even use it myself! In fact, my original cheat sheet is what led to the compilation.
I'm building a 996TT right now, and I've used it 3 times today so far!
Nope. Under no circumstance will a torque be memorized under this roof. Every single torque is referenced, on every single build, no matter the engine.
Anyone found assembling something, and not looking up the torque when its needed, is written up. It happens this way so torques are never confused from engine to engine.
I practice the same assembly procedures as those whom I manage. It slows everything down, but we don't care; because, there's no clocks here either.
When you look at the torque spec book, you'll notice its laid out in order of assembly. This is because my people were using this well before it was on the market, and as the engine is assembled, the builder flips to the next page and keeps going.
I Sharpie lug torques, tire PSI, caliper bolt torque, drain plug torque, and other stuff I use semi-regularly onto a cabinet door in the garage. I don't trust my memory, and I've already smeared enough grease and oil on the manuals...it might lower the resale value of that cabinet door, but I'm OK with that.
I will be picking up one of the fastener books - the books I have are inconsistent, and it's irritating to have to remember where in the book they actually include the necessary values.
I'm envious when I see one of the factory videos where there is a specific tool for every fastener with the torques preset - but I don't think that's realistic for a DIY'ers garage. The wife might be pissed if I had 50 different drivers and impact wrenches hanging from the rafters...
The time that this book saves is the best part. Yes, most torques can be found elsewhere, but many are deeply hidden in the manuals, usually within a procedure. I can find a torque spec in less than 30 seconds using my book.
What REALLY grinds my gears is when the manual instructs you to refer to a different procedure to get the torque values. Seriously? They couldn't spring for the additional 15 characters to include it in BOTH places?
What sucks more is that every manual out there has the wrong values (some), because they change.
When making the book up I had to check them all two weeks before it went to print, and more than 50 torques had changed in 18 months time. Thats why with every reprint of the book, I have to verify every torque and update them.
