Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello all I have a '97 996 C2, which has the option 150 "runs on leaded fuel - no catalysts". I run my car on 98RON flawlessly. Has anyone any knowledge of this option, and does it give me any more power over the standard 300hp?

POST 2Original post

OP - Thats interesting. What is your build month/year? I wonder why the car was optioned for dirty gas? Was it originally a Gulf car? On the 993 the cats were physically there, but hollow. Do you have cats? Do you have the different filler neck? As far as power the exhaust flow is less restricted, so a touch more grunt. The 98 fuel is where you get a horsepower bump. A leaded gas M150 M96 is a very unusual option.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

10/97 build and a South African car. I do believe it came with hollow cats but they are no longer on the car. It is also had the Fister mod. It is loud.

That makes sense. SA used leaded fuel then.

POST 5Original post

Yes 9NEIN6, You can found a lot of country with No Cat, I see 964, 993 and 996 without cat, The 964 and 993 dont have any O2 sensor, may be more hp... with the 993 you can get the more hp engine and always the more short G50, the 993 C2 with the G5021.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I didn't know that, thanks trevi1.

POST 7Original post

Never heard of this option but interesting that Porsche addressed leaded fuel markets with this option. Rich
