Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello, I have a 2003 996 C4S using the Connect 2 CT51-PO04 harness, Continental TR7412UB-OR, BOSE system with Fiber Optic Line, with no sounds coming from any speakers. I was able to get the 12V Ignition power ran but I have no sound. Radio has no sound, AUX has no sound & Bluetooth has no sound. I do have the two Red & White RCA cables from the Connect 2 harness left unplugged because the Continental Radio does not have anything to plug the RCA wires into - do you think this could be the reason for no sound? Let me know your thoughts please.

POST 2Original post

I looked at that harness just now, and without connecting the RCA plugs to the head unit, you will get no sound. The fiber from the BOSE amp gets the signal from those two RCA plugs. -Tom 2003 C2

POST 3Original post

U need a high output to low level adaptor. It takes the speaker output from the radio and converts it to the rca input. Then the amp will get the audio, amplify it and send it to the speakers. many to choose from, here is an example. Amazon Amazon

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thank you for the responses! I went & got a RCA to AUX adapter & confirmed it was the RCA cables that is causing no sound before I read the responses. Do you think I got the wrong Continental Radio or do people always run that high output to low level RCA adapter?

POST 5Original post

They dont have another version of that radio. Its how they make the radio so u need the convertor. I replaced the amp also and it had high level inputs so i didnt need the convertor.

IMHO, you need a different radio for your application. For example, the Blaupunkt Bremen gives the car a retro look in a single DIN configuration. And, it has direct ISO connection for switched/constant power as well as true LINE-LEVEL pre-AMP audio output via RCA connectors to feed the Analog-to-MOST conversion boxes. The Continental radios are nice, but best suited for base Porsche cars that require SPEAKER-LEVEL output. HI/LO adapters are bad news in my opinion. They tend to induce noise. https://blaupunkt.com/product/bremen-sqr-46-dab/ Amazon Amazon

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I never followed up with my resolution. I ended up using the Connects2 CT51-PO04 Harness & worked perfectly. The sound is really loud & very clear. I am not sure why people do not like the Bose system, I think it sounds great.
