Im buying a tested unit off eBay with a different wiring harness.

I purchased a working used complete assembly on E bay for a little over $300.as a back up.

Mine has two also, not sure why it says 3 unless it's referencing connections , I used the picture when wiring mine back together..

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Working my way through some shelved projects on my 99 C4Cab. Spoiler was actuating up and down but the drive motor kept going at the top and bottom making a horrible clicking noise. Testing getting intermittent continuity at the up and down positions through the 2 switches. Took apart and one of the switches fell apart. Also the teeth ends are chewed up from the drive motor not stopping.
Cant Seem to find these switches or these teeth. Buying the entire unit from Porsche isnt something Im willing to do as its crazy expensive.
anyone have any links or leads on these sets of switches or plastic teeth? Kind of surprised no one has a 3d print file on the teeth.
thanks!
Seems like the only option I can find is to buy the entire unit fir $2000 from Sunset or gamble on a used unit ($400+)....I can't find these dang microswitches anywhere nor the teeth...
Went through the same thing. Got an entire mechanism from ebay. It had a video demonstrating that it worked. My question is how does the car know if the wing is up or down? And your link didn't show the switches. I may need one too.
I had the same problem. I had zero luck with finding gear racks or having them made. Took a chance on a Cayman rear lid but that didn't pan out. Had been thinking of a ducktail for awhile so I went ahead and installed one. Moved blower motor, etc., over to the ducktail. Rewire of cable harness prevents warning light on dash from coming on.

maybe this link will work. Looks the same as the above link posted in the response. Hope this works out. Ive got epoxy in the ruined teeth and will reshape those too
Rack teeth stripping is probably a failure of the Teflon lining in the tubes deteriorating, making it difficult for the wing to smoothly go up or down.
That's what happened to mine, the lining on one had broke apart in the tube and caused one cable jam., the other one was not much better but still functioning. I was able to source a set of working tubes from ebay.
Someone does make the teeth!! Amazing!! Thanks so much for sharing that link. Ill be getting a set for sure.
switches came, they seem to be the correct part , I will be wiring them up tomorrow
Spoiler teeth on back order but the guy said he should have some by months end. Switches are on order from the link shared above ( Amazon ones looked correct but the wires come out the wrong side of the switch).
decided to take the downtime to pull the front bumper that needs some filler and paint and clean out the radiators (not sure if the have ever been done).
Prior owner drove into his garage door. Not split just needs a bit of filler, sand the whole thing and repaint
The switches took a minute to arrive also hopefully you'll have your spoiler operational again. I purchased a working used complete assembly on E bay for a little over $300.as a back up. Good luck.
I have the new switches wired up and am reassembling. My question, do the switches get any kind of metal trigger or is it just the nub of the switch going up and down on the spoiler drive teeth??
Should it have a metal lever like this?? Mine didnt come apart with them but mine also didnt work
thanks! And thanks for the link to the switches. They came and are perfectall the way from Poland! I got 4 for good measure 😂 also gone back and forth with the spoiler teeth guy (Julian) and he is working on getting me a new set. I epoxy repaired mine so I can test the electronics are functioning correctly and not shred a new set of teeth
just seeing this pic.you have THREE
microswitches.my harness only had 2.am I missing a switch then?? 99 C4 Cab
edit: looking now at the Bentley and shows only 2 so
Im guessing either a later version or non us version as 3 switches
Real nice guy and a very nice product!
I am, however, beating my head against the wall. I think either my harness is bad (even with new switches) or there is an issue with the ECU. The spoiler is either full up or drops down an inch. And sometimes does nothing at all. Im buying a tested unit off eBay with a different wiring harness.
either way I bought 2 sets of teeth from Julian.
Front bumper should be ready for paint this week. Cant wait to get back on the road.
Aggravating I know, The good news is the e bay solution is plug and play, you can plug it in before mounting to make sure its in good nick.
I might consider a fixed wing if it happens again.
I'm going for an all day drive tomorrow, every time I make it back without a dash warning light coming on is a good day..
Yes to both. I figured I'd give it one last shot and then either secure it in the down position or move on to fixed. Enjoy the drive and here is to NO warning lights
