Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I have replaced the regulator, all three microswitches, the door lock mechanism, the motor (and therefore the control board which is attached), aligned the regulator and window clamps etc to the same as the other door (which is fine) and performed the window reset procedure multiple times (both with and without a battery disconnect).
Leading evidence: 'Disconnect )' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Disconnect )' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

Suggestion
It is not "register" but resetting the window upper and lower limits.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Btw I inherited the car with this issue, I can only assume it worked at some point.
Hi
my 996.1 is not dropping the requisite 15-20mm when the door handle microswitches are activated (opening/closing door), even when simulated with door open and screwdriver used to fool the lock/door. It is dropping 2-3mm so it is as if the motor isn't turning enough.
With the door open, if I drop and raise the window it does stop at the requisite 15-20mm to allow the door to close properly, and does raise the window correctly to the close height.
The window opens and closes fine with normal operation.

There is no play in the window - tested with the door open - and the new regulator cables are tight as you can get.
My Durametric Pro is useless for this in terms of control modules, there arent any i can see.
The 2-3mm is not quite enough to get away with it (sort of), kind of ends up with you putting weight on the door, which I don't want.

I'm at a loss ... any suggestions?
When you open the door and the motor actuates to drop the window, can you press down on the window with your hand and make it drop more? If you can, the cable is loose on the window regulator mechanism and needs to be made tight from this position (after you've pushed down on it). This was the trick to getting mine to drop the correct amount. If you just lower the window with the switch it will present itself as tight as the motor has taken up the slack already.
It is not "register" but resetting the window upper and lower limits. Ignition on, push the window down button and continue to hold the down button for 10-15 seconds, then push the up button and continue to hold the up button for 10-15 seconds. Works on both windows. This procedure resets the window upper and lower limits.
