Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi All, Some of you may have seen my posts detailing how I money shifted my car on the track, and now I am installing a new motor out of a donor car. I now have both motors out and have two questions about compatibility. 1. My car is a 99 C2 with a throttle cable, the donor is a 2000 C4 with the EGAS/Drive By Wire. What is the procedure I need to do to swap the new motor to use the throtte cable? Obviously, I need to use my old throttle body, what do I need to do for the wiring? Do I need to use my old harness? Or can I just change the wiring at the throttle body on the new motor? 2. The donor car has the fuel cooler attached to the AC Compressor. My car does not have this. What do I need to do to bypass the fuel cooling system? Or do I need to use the system from the donor car. I would prefer not to do this, since I don't want to have to evacuate the R134, and I know that my AC Compressor is new. Any help would be great.

POST 2Original post

Easy answer is to use all of your wiring and accessories. Doing that you basically eliminate any issues as they were for your car from the get go.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Bump. Anyone have some advice for me on the fuel cooler?

POST 4Original post

Wayne(Pelican) did a 3.4 swap in a Boxster. He wrote up in some detail. There may be a few gems there for you ?

POST 5Original post

Use the AC compressor from your car, you may have to swap some fuel lines, I forget exactly how they run. For the egas vs wire, just use your old throttle body.
