This is not a probability of success.

Suspected cause

The later one (which im wondering which applies to your 2003 system, probably the later one) has a lot more steps to install and requires getting into the existing antenna recievers and has a lot more advanced integration required for everything with the guage-cluster computer and all that.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, I'm about to purchase a PCCM Plus for my 2003 911 C2 Non-Bose Model. Do I need any other parts to install it? Or does it come with everything?

POST 2Original post

I didn't install mine myself, but since the dealer didn't invoice me any additional parts, seems like it's all included.

POST 3Original post

There are actually two different PCCM+ devices, one for older 996.1 machines, and one for the later 996.2 - they even look different to match their intended dashboard. (which can be confusing when first looking up directions on forums and etc.) The early one is super-simple to install, and would be a waste to pay a professional to do. especially since you are installing right into the hifi system (which is what i did. i also updated all six speakers with OEM replacements, and man it sounds so good! very refined imo) the hardest part is simply routing your microphone to the steering wheel, and perhaps the amplifier grounding you must do that i will mention below. The later one (which im wondering which applies to your 2003 system, probably the later one) has a lot more steps to install and requires getting into the existing antenna recievers and has a lot more advanced integration required for everything with the guage-cluster computer and all that. I would almost suggest letting a dealership do that one and making sure its all iin the right. The dealership technician documentation for the later model has been leaked on to the web and is available for download, theres also a porsche specialist from germany who posted a video with all of the install, if you want to do it yourself - linked below. it does help a lot because the instructions are pretty short, but i have attached it here as well. If you do the install yourself, on a HiFi system, note the VERY IMPORTANT step of adding the negative grounding wire to the amplifier's wire-loom 18-point plug and grounding it to the body grounding point in the trunk driver-side wall as directed in the instructions. That grounding cable is not provided with the kit and you will need it. linked HERE PCCM Instruction Video - German (english subtitled)
