Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Outcome without a verified action link

OK another question then when I took the good bulb out of the driver side tail light and put it into the passenger side tail light meaning no bulb back over on driver side that socket did not work at all.

Any electrical experts out there? Noticed when I activate the fog lights either with the driving or the headlights on, you can pull the switch out 2 Clicks. When you pull it all the way out the rear side section of the tail lights get real bright, thus being able to be seen better in fog. I noticed my passenger side tail light that lightbulb not lighting up. Removed both tail lights took the good bulb out of the driver side put it in the passenger side nothing. Then went and bought new bulbs put a brand new bulb in the driver side lights up, put a brand new bulb in the passenger side nothing. Im assuming that means I have an electrical issue with that passenger side light socket. I did not mess with the fuses as I assume number A7 Controls all the fog light rear activation in the rear and since the passenger side is working, it should be fine. Any ideas. Thank you in advance.

Electrical engineer here, but not needed. Rear fog light is supposed to light one side so it isn't confused with braking. Only need to make yourself visible on one side to work in fog.

OK another question then when I took the good bulb out of the driver side tail light and put it into the passenger side tail light meaning no bulb back over on driver side that socket did not work at all. Is that normal. When I first took the passenger side off, thinking it was a bad bulb. They’re actually was no bulb. Are you saying that is out of the factory or normal? Thanks for your input. My concern was if I activated those bright fog lights in the rear and one is out 50 (police) thinking I have a tail light out. great information.

its working as designed. Lot's of threads on this exact subject. Either let it be or just accept that it's working properly with only one bulb working. There is no wiring on the passenger side even though there is a socket

From my understanding years ago, it’s to mark the driver’s side of the car only.
