For the track I run about 35 front and 40 rear - hot.
Leading evidence: 'Run about 35 front and 40 rear - hot' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check after each session' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I run nt-01s (100tw) and i go for 34 f and 36r when hot.

Check as soon as you come off the track, and check after each session.

So I usually start out about about 30 psi Fr/Rr and check after the first session.

Based on several years of amateur racing (SCCA SRF, Miata) and some DEs in my 996, I would recommend 32-33 psi cold for the first session, then lower to 35 psi HOT all around measured immediately after leaving track.

FWIW - I just tracked four days at the Glen (PCA events), and the chief instructor (im in novice group) had this to say, no matter while tire size/brand/etc (my assumption being "street" tires in use)::

I've read through numerous threads on "DD" varying pressures (I agree the standard, 'full load' pressures seem too bumpy), but just curious what people are using for track day outings on their "daily" rides when they get there.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've read through numerous threads on "DD" varying pressures (I agree the standard, 'full load' pressures seem too bumpy), but just curious what people are using for track day outings on their "daily" rides when they get there. 03 C4S, Sumi HTR ZIIIs, standard size for C4S.
Side note, does anyone have a recommendation for an 'auto inflate' air pump? I know there are models that will shut off after inflated to a certain PSI, but haven't found any that do that when deflating. Something small that I can use to inflate/deflate via the cigarette outlet would be good to hear about.
I did 2 track days with my newly acquired 03 c4s in April. Same tires as yours. My assigned instructor told me one thing regarding tire pressure but the head instructor told us very different information during the pre-track classroom discussion. I choose to listen to the head instructor who basically had us set something like 32/33/33/34 (rear L, front L, front R, back R).
Owners manual says 36 front, 44 rear is standard cold.
For the track I run about 35 front and 40 rear - hot. Check as soon as you come off the track, and check after each session. Usually you will let air out as the day wears on and tires retain more heat.
I have a newly acquired pyrometer, so my recommendation is subject to change in the near future.
In my case, running M/L Sport Cup 2, the sweet spot (for the track) is about 35~36 HOT front and rear. It was similar for my previous tires, Hankook RS3/4. So I usually start out about about 30 psi Fr/Rr and check after the first session. If needed adjust down a little to achieve no more than 36psi HOT.

while tires cold:
LF 31 RF 32
LR 30 RR 31
while hot (after session) - bleed everything to 35.
repeat testing after subsequent sessions, and bleed to 35 if needed.
I have a 99 stock 911 C2. Pirelli P Zero 18's front and rear, and IIRC tire pressures from frunk lid indicate 36/42.
Track was both dry and rainy/wet. Car handled great IMO (but I dont have a lot of experience).
YMMV.

He said the left rear wheel would receive the most "abuse" [stress, I guess] on the predominantly right hand turn track.
Honestly, I don't think 1 psi at my level matters much. I didn't spin, and was able to push the tires to the edge (and beyond just a bit) of their grip in several turns.
This is close to what I've found to work on my car; I do about 34/40 F/R, measured immediately after a session.
It's a complicated optimization problem depending on what you want to optimize on; absolute grip and lap time, or tire longevity? And of course your results will vary based on your alignment, driving style, tire model, etc. I would prefer to lower the pressures, especially the fronts, to gain more grip and reduce understeer, but I'm unwilling to do so because the settings I'm at yield pretty uniform tire wear; if I lowered the pressure more I'd see more outside shoulder wear and shorten the life of the tire, and I don't want to spend money to add more negative camber to compensate.
Based on several years of amateur racing (SCCA SRF, Miata) and some DEs in my 996, I would recommend 32-33 psi cold for the first session, then lower to 35 psi HOT all around measured immediately after leaving track. Buy a good 3-4” gauge and use only that gauge (they vary in accuracy). Vary the hot temps according to handling 1/2 - 1 psi per session. I’ve tried 40 psi rears hot and did not like the balance.
many many thanks ! This weekend will be the first time the car is 100% prepped from fluids, to brakes and recaros. Just installed an oil temp gauge, what would you say is too hot from your experience ?
I run nt-01s (100tw) and i go for 34 f and 36r when hot. I start them around 30 amd adjust as i go.
I would say 280ish is a nogo for oil temp. 230 is a good normal operating temp. Some cars will regularly hit 300 but that seems way too high for me.
