My 2000 C2 halogens have burn marks and I've been considering replacing them with used OEM Litronics from eBay. From all the research I've done, it should be plug and play but I do lose some functionality with leveling and the high beams remain halogen, both of which I can live with. My question is that on some Litronics headlights I am watching, there is a vent on the bottom corner that I'm not sure serves a function other than cosmetic. I'm thinking that I can just pop out the current corner piece on my halogens to replace that piece but I want to confirm that it serves no function. My current halogens look like this.

That is the port for the headlight washers, mandatory on Litronics IIRC. Simple replacement with standard corner trim.

Another option is Retrofitlab or Adrian headlights, led or hid projector kits into your existing refinished painted lights. Much much more usable light with either projector kit. And without the unknown used eBay risk. Most all used 996 lights will need (internal) harness work. Can paint interior to match car or black, or whateva....

I've actually looked into that and watched all the install videos. Opening the headlight case seems a bit daunting. Having said that, I have a set of extra halogens I bought cheap via FB Markeplace that I can test it on.

I think Adrian is offering to do the conversion as a service. No idea what the charge is. He's figured out how to ship these jewels safely, although I don't know what he recommends to ship them to him.
