Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I plan to use the Bose sub, over an aftermarket, because I like a stock look in my cars.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Gents,
Recently bought a 996 and put it immediately to bed for the Winter.
I'd like to:
- Upgrade speakers
- Add stock BOSE sub on the back shelf
- Maintain stock CDR 220 head unit but add bluetooth
- Upgrade amp (if there even is one)
1. Does anyone know the part # for the door speaker housings? I understand there is usually cutting involved when fitting upgraded speakers and I'd like to buy a second set to cut, so I can keep my stock ones and return to factory should I want.
2. Does anyone know if I have an amp?
2b. If so, do I need to upgrade to get better sound?
2c. If so, are there generally recommended amps?
Can you confirm if you have the Bose stock wiring and components? Check your option tag. Or, are you wanting to add a Bose sub? It appears you have the base CDR-220 analog system without amp. I can't be 100% on the C4S, but if it's a non-MOST system, then more than likely, the car's HU is powering the speakers not a frunk amp like with the OEM "HIFI System" or "Bose System" options.
I don't believe I have any OEM Bose components. I plan to use the Bose sub, over an aftermarket, because I like a stock look in my cars.
Too bad about lack of amp. Would one normally be located under the rectangular grill in the top left corner of my frunk photo? Is that where people mounter aftermarket ones?
Yea, I believe Porsche mounted the amp on the fire wall just to the left (under the vent). Normally, the CD changer would be mounted on top of the liner next to the vent.
If you really want to confirm this information, you'll need to remove the frunk's black liner. Not fun at all. Word to the wise... mark your frunk's weather seal before removing (i.e. top, bottom, left, right). If you don't, it can be a major PITA to reinstall.
I'll have a local shop suggested by members do my upgrade. But I'm trying to educate myself in advance of dropping it at the shop.
It seems many favour the Focal speakers. Is there an amp everyone likes?
