That being said, when I change the brake pads I change the sensors as well.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

twisting brake pad sensors: need to do all 4 for brake sensor light to go out?

POST 2Original post

as I understand it: There are two brake pads on each wheel. If any brake pad is worn down to where the sensor touches the rotor/disc, the light will activate If all pads have sensors installed and there is enough pad life left so that sensors are not touching the rotors/discs, the light will not be active. Total pads & sensors = 8 Need all 8 sensors to not be touching the rotors. Hope this helps

POST 3Original post

Not really. Only the ones that have made contact with the rotor. Once they do that and trigger the brake sensor light they are done for. That being said, when I change the brake pads I change the sensors as well. Just seems like a good idea given the environment they live with. They are not expensive.

POST 4Original post

OP, you have 3 threads on the same topic. For future sanity please keep like topics to one thread.......unless it regarding Oil, IMS, RMS or PMS

Wait, you know which oil is best?

POST 6Original post

holy crap, (3) posts about the same topic.... Are you new to forums?

POST 7Original post

The brake sensor make up a single circuit - so yes, all of them need to be replaced or bypassed.
