Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello, I got P0430 Catalyst efficiency below threshold Bank 2. It's been really cold here. 1 degree this morning and 17 degrees on my drive home. I got the CEL on my drive home. I cleared the code and read that sometimes this code shows up in cold weather or when cats are just getting old and no longer to perform as intended. Any thoughts on this CEL? thanks

POST 2Original post

Unless it's bothering you, it's safe to ignore. I have read that cold weather additives (ethanol) can trigger the trouble code, which is consistent with this only happening to you when it's cold... The down side to ignoring it, of course, is that when the light is lit, you won't know without reading the codes if there is another DTC you need to be aware of.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a scanner so I can always check the code and clear it when it comes back. Thanks for the feedback. I know my O2 sensors are old, but I think i'll let things slide for a while. It is driving very strong.

POST 4Original post

I have the same problem last week. Cats are marginal. Magnaflow has aftermarket cats
