I know this subject has been covered 100's of times, but wanted to share recent experience with my new car(to me). Had the car for 2 weeks, have put top up and down 4-5 times with no problem. Did it couple weeks ago and it would barely move. Had an oh sh$% moment but went to the inter webs and scoured everything I could about what to do. As we all know, lot's of theories and solutions. I am a huge DIY, have rebuilt many engines etc so not shy or lack the tools, etc. Was ready to do it myself, but couldn't find the correct parts. Found some seals on Ebay, but looked like Orings. Both positive and negative feedback on using those. No judgement on those that go that route. Found an old Youtube video by a Craig Kunins. He has been rebuilding these for a long time and seemed to have a good rep. Contacted him, he was very responsive and direct. Sent him my cylinders, we were texting shipping info, and he rebuilt them the same day he received and shipped back the next day. His work is very professional, uses the correct parts and has a 100% satisfaction rate. And he will totally stand by his work. He gets $250 per or $400 for both. Not cheap, but better than going the dealer route, which I have heard numbers up to $6k for the exact same repair. Would highly recommend Craig if you are in need of his services. Ditto on Craig Kunnis. Did mine 3 years ago. Perfect top operation since.
