My RV AGM group 31 battery pack, that got stored in PHX summer covered storage, lasted 10 years, and weren't dead when replaced, just on the weak side.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

No offense, but you have been on here for 18 years and you have question about battery storage? All the options work. Is there a deeper question here I am missing?
Ouch. Back to the question.
He is my routine 40 years now not a single spring starting issue.
Not a terrible question
Vented batteries, a good maintainer, sta-bil marine in full tank of fuel, top off tires, rubber mats, breathable car cover, good night. Some do fresh oil service before putting to bed.
In my experience over a winter, disconnected, a battery is totally fine. Hooking it up to a charger/trickle charger before putting it into your vehicle is about all you need. Havent had any noticeable, or significant battery life loss in any of them. But, trickle charger is the best option.
Well, I
always
start with AGM batteries. Thats the key for me, along with pulling the neg cable off..... Forgetting to pull neg terminal always results in a dead ruined battery.
Huge difference in how AGM hold a charge, almost 80+%, all thru out a long off season. No lead acid battery can come anywhere near close to holding a charge compared to AGM.
AGM, Hot or cold.
No need at all
for a battery tender. In fact the wrong tender does more harm than good.
Take a 30 min ride to make sure battery has full charge and Sta-Bil has worked thru the fuel system. Then pull neg cable. There are a few other things for general off season storage, but you asked about batteries...
I've stored this way for many decades. Either in the off dune season at Glamis Storage where it gets probably 115. between April and Oct storage. Or in NE winters for 5 months where -10 wasn't uncommon.
Not uncommon for my AGM batteries to last 6+ years. My RV AGM group 31 battery pack, that got stored in PHX summer covered storage, lasted 10 years, and weren't dead when replaced, just on the weak side.
First day of the season, test bat voltage, usually 12.4-12.7, depending on battery age. Pop on neg terminal, starts right up....
jmo
^^^ Good info allcool. Some of the batteries are AGM and some are lead-acid. I think I will just pull the batteries in my off-site cars and throw a maintainer on them every now and then to keep them topped off. I was a bit skeptical of this method as I have never (that I can remember) removed a battery for storage purposes.
I wash the cars, remove the batteries, bag car in its hibernation sleep sack, and read them bed time stories. After they are asleep, I put the battery on the trickle charger and put Patrick O'Hearn the So Flows Sessions on loop in the garage for the hibernating cars. There is no other way.
This ^^
The only steps missing from my routine is a wash before the final drive and a rinseless wash once the 996 cools down and before the cover goes on.
I use a CTEK, I mean Porsche charger year round.

Damn, I would eat off of your wheels Phil...sorry, I don't mean to give you any anxiety of forks, knives and spoons bouncing off of your wheels. HAHA I don't think my wheels left the factory that perfect. They certainly weren't that nice after my dealer got their mitts on them...
