Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Looking to see comparison photos of H&R lowering springs vs ROW M030 on a C4S. also what is everyones recommended shock/strut? Bilstein B6, B8 or Koni Special Active?

POST 2Original post

This is what H&R springs on Bilstein "yellows" (not sure the model number) looks like. I am replacing this setup after about 60,000 miles. It was getting a bit harsh and probably could have benefited from fresh shocks, but I'm replacing with Feal 441 coilovers.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

drop looks good but not really looking for a harsh ride. I know the Koni sports are dampening adjustable. May have to go that route.

POST 4Original post

I can't comment on the choices you suggest but wanted to suggest that you refresh all the bushings and arms etc... I recently did a full overhaul on C4S with 85k on it and wow what a difference. I bit the bullet and went Ohlins, but replacing all the bushings and arms was key.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I cant justify needing $4k+ coil overs which is why I just suggested the above. I dont do anything but cruise to work once a week, some date nights with the wife and some spirited driving here and there. I will definitely look into the replacing the worn bushings and going from there.

POST 6Original post

With Konis you get a little lower than with Bilsteins.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

After talking with Gert, I have decided to go with RoW M030 springs and Koni sport shocks. Ive used these in the past on other vehicles and love the adjustability.

POST 8Original post

Quotes source post: 19821114

What pushed you this direction over the other spring and shock choices?

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 19822893

spring choice was because I didnt want 1 drop all around. A 20mm front and 10mm is perfect for my taste. Shock wise I wanted dampening adjustability which the bilstein doesnt offer. You get what you get with bilstein.

Gert hooked me up too, with RoW M030 and Koni yellows. I'm very pleased. I also replaced every suspension part containing rubber, plus the strut top items etc. Here's the look you'll be getting.

POST 12Original post

I too am in a pickle with which setup to go with on our C4S. @ 92k miles the stock stuff is way done. I have a .1 C4 with the B8's and H&R's. It is a decent ride but a week ago I did Ohlins R&T on a customer's .1 C2.... I wish the Ohlins were not $4k for the C4's otherwise I would have them already. Set at 15/20 they're pretty awesome for street use and the odd thing is - despite lowering the car to M030 spec the car is much quieter. Would be curious to see how the M030 and Koni setup rides. I also have a aeorkit .1 C4 that came with the Feal setup- I will be curious to see how these ride when I finish the motor for that car. --Aaron
