All, Hello! Returning member from way to long ago. I just got the PPI on a 996 I was looking at.... Tell me what you think? Car is a 2000 996 w/ 38K miles. Really like to hear your opinions on this one. "possible rear main seal shows oil seeping with visible build up over time. Found scratching (during bore scope) on thrust surfaces on cylinder walls. Two cylinders have what appears to be marks along cylinder walls." Currently undergoing compression and leak down testing on the motor to see what it shows... Other misc items were clear pretty much, new tires needed, etc. Codes all were clear

What is the build date of the car? Porsche switched from Ferrostan to Ferroprint on the pistons in MY2000. If it's an early build it should be fine regarding bore scoring issues. RMS probably just needs some good driving time on it to seal up. I would suggest a water pump replacement and full coolant flush ASAP if there is no history.
