Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Every once in awhile, my driver window does not go down when I acticate the pw switch. I have always gotten it to go by cycling the switch from up to down to up to down. Is the sticking in the upper weatherstripping? Or is it something more serious. Where do I start looking? Thanks in advance Myron

POST 2Original post

Probably the motor has a dead spot on it. You can test the switch easily by pulling the 2 switches out and swapping them. Leave it that way and if the problem moves to the other door, the switch is bad. If you listen closely, you can hear the motor (and see a voltage drop on your voltage gauge) when you click the switch. If you can hear the motor and see the voltage drop, then something is locking up the motor. If you cannot hear the motor or see any voltage drop, then the motor is likely sudfering from a dead spot. If the problem remains, I would buy a new window regulator assembly, or send yours in to have it refurbished (theres a shop in Phoenix, AZ that does several Porsche regulators per week). Its sometimes cheaper to have the regulator rebuilt with arguably newer, stronger, parts.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the reply. I will follow your suggestions. Myron
