Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

20 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a 2003 996 Targa, sliver and dark blue interior, The interior is about 8.5 condition except steering wheel. The wheel is blue leather and at the top its showing some wear. What are my option, -send off to get re leathered, if so wear? -re dye it - buy another one? Thanks John

POST 2Original post

Several people have given these guys a good recommendation http://www.dallassteeringwheel.com/

POST 3Original post

If you just want to re-finish it this stuff is good http://www.leatherworldtech.com

POST 4Original post

For short term solution i found a nice leather steering wheel cover. I think it costed like $40+ dollar and the fitting and look was pretty good. I also liked the extra thickness it provided on the steering wheel. Mine was black so it was easy to find....not sure if you could find a matching blue leather. I actually installed the cover to save the alcantara on the steering wheel, installed by previous owner. It was starting to show wear and i knew it wasn't cheap to replace so i wanted to save it by trying on a leather wheel cover.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the advice, I have thought about getting steering wheel re wrapped so it was thicker and a little softer, who re builds these. Thanks John

POST 14Original post

How much did you guys pay for havng Dallas do your steering wheel, if I may ask? Randy, I see in your picture the 'batwing' with 911 script. I have been looking for a black one with the slots for the switches but can't find anything. Not even a part number. Is yours original equipment? Don't suppose you know the part number for it?

Suncoast has them with the cutouts for the switches: https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/BATWING.html But not with the 911 designation. Ted

POST 16Original post

I saw those, but its the one that says '911' that I am after.

cds72911 do you still have that steering wheel for sale?

POST 19Original post

Yes, I still have a metropol blue steering wheel and airbag sitting on the shelf. It came out of a manual shift car, so no tiptronic buttons. Shoot me a private message if you are interested.

POST 20Original post

Just sent mine out with a group buy on this forum to Poland (site is called carsdream). The prices seemed reasonable, so I am hoping it comes out as I envisioned!
