Since I'm pulling the power for the lights from the PSM, a comment on the Heidi and Franny video indicated that one lamp wire should be on the left single terminal of the PSM and the other on the ground - unlike using the outside terminals as in the videos.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've installed the garage door switch hack to my car. Switch works great - the lights - not so much. I've been following two YouTube videos and both show the lamp power comes from the two outside posts of an existing switch. Since I'm pulling the power for the lights from the PSM, a comment on the Heidi and Franny video indicated that one lamp wire should be on the left single terminal of the PSM and the other on the ground - unlike using the outside terminals as in the videos. I tried that, tried the outside, tried different configurations, tried tapping a different switch on the other side of the horseshow - even tried the remote spoiler switch I have yet to install and couldn't get either switch to light up when I turn on the lights. At the moment I'm about half-way to this guy and would appreciate a push or kick in the right direction. Thanks.
